Pretty sure they are wanting him as a RB 3 at best. Depth guy and special teamer.
Alshon Jeffery may miss first six games of the regular season

Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has been on the physically unable to perform list since the start of training camp, and he may not be off it any time soon.
Jeffery, who is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, could stay on the PUP list at the start of the regular season, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
By rule, any player who is on the PUP list at the start of the regular season must miss at least the first six weeks of the season.
That would be a big blow to Philadelphia. Jeffery led all Eagles wide receivers with 789 receiving yards and nine touchdowns last season, and he added 219 yards and three touchdowns in the postseason. Philadelphia wants him back soon, but he may not be back as soon as is hoped.
I kind of felt this was the issue. There has been no "news" out of the Saints TC about him at all. I usally get an earful about ex-Bears doing well on the Saints roster. Not that that has been often nor many.
Yeap, looks like Pace was not too crazy for letting AJ and Cam go. I think both are good recievers, but we just cannot afford to have players on the team that are hurt year in and year out. Right now we have Floyd, White, Long, and Golman. All great teammates, all (excluding White) make a difference when on the field, but their injuries have cost us games.
Train like you are 2nd, but play like you are 1st.

i just commented to Shad about Floyd on another thread. How is he injury prone all of the sudden? Wasnt it just last season? am i missing something?

Only played 12 games in 2016 after having two concussions. Then played 10 games last year after injuring his leg last year.
