The wife of former NFL player Erik Kramer told police she fears for her life and their daughter’s well-being after Kramer physically abused her during a June 13 altercation, according to TMZ Sports.

Cortney Baird said she believes her husband — a former NFL quarterback who played for the Bears from 1994 to 1998 — is on a “manhunt” to kill her after he “snapped” and threw various pieces of household items at her, according to TMZ Sports.

Kramer, 53, was arrested at his home in Agoura Hills, Calif., following the incident, TMZ reported.

“I am terrified that he is out looking for me at this very moment and will kill me and my daughter,” Baird said.

Following Kramer’s arrest, Baird filed for divorce and got an emergency restraining order that says Kramer must stay 100 yards away from her at all times, according to the report.

Mike Glennon still feels like he’s “living the dream”

Posted by Josh Alper on June 28, 2018, 4:22 PM EDT

At this point last year, Mike Glennon was in the first months of a three-year, $45 million contract and preparing to open the season as the Bears starting quarterback.

Glennon lasted four games in that role before Mitch Trubisky took over the job and the Bears cut Glennon loose this offseason. He signed with the Cardinals, who also signed Sam Bradford before trading up to draft Josh Rosen in the first round.

The biggest quarterback question in Arizona is whether Rosen will make the same early move into the lineup that Trubisky did last year. Glennon’s question is whether he’ll be playing at all, but he said the change in circumstances hasn’t left him down in the dumps. Glennon said “you have to keep everything in perspective and realize I’m still living the dream” while doing what he can to be ready to play if needed.

“That’s what I feel like I’ve done over the past few years, always prepare and be ready for that opportunity,” Glennon said, via the team’s website. “When I was the backup in Tampa, it never really came. You just never know. I know Arizona has had that come up a lot recently. You have to go in with the mindset of, ‘I have to be ready to go.'”

It remains to be seen if Glennon will be on the 53-man roster in Arizona, although Bradford’s injury history likely works in his favor as the team would probably want an experienced player behind Rosen. That role probably won’t lead to another shot as a starter, but, as Glennon noted, things could be a lot worse.

Eagles release receiver Marquess Wilson, waive cornerback Randall Goforth

Posted by Curtis Crabtree on July 25, 2018, 12:41 AM EDT

Ahead of the start of training camp on Wednesday, the Philadelphia Eagles created two openings on their 90-man roster by releasing veteran wide receiver Marquess Wilson and waiving cornerback Randall Goforth.

Goforth tore an ACL in training camp with the Eagles last year after signing as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA. Goforth wasn’t listed with an injury designation on the league transaction report, which indicates he would have passed a physical before being released.

Wilson signed with the Eagles this offseason after not playing for a team last year. A former seventh-round pick of the Chicago Bears in 2013, Wilson appeared in 31 games over four seasons before becoming a free agent following the 2016 season. He caught 56 passes for 777 yards and three touchdowns in his four years with the Bears.

Wilson signed with the New York Jets last offseason but was released during the preseason.

F**cking Ja'Marcus!

He's back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Colts sign J’Marcus Webb

Posted by Josh Alper on July 30, 2018, 4:09 PM EDT
The Colts have added a veteran tackle to the group of players vying for roles on their offensive line.

The team announced the signing of J’Marcus Webb on Monday. Undrafted rookie tackle Jared Machorro was waived with an injury designation to make room for Webb and will revert to Indy’s injured reserve if he clears waivers.

Webb was out of the league during the 2017 season, but has spent time with the Seahawks, Raiders, Vikings and Bears since entering the league as a Bears seventh-round pick in 2010. He made 44 starts over three years with Chicago and made 16 starts for the Raiders in 2015.

Webb’s arrival comes with left tackle Anthony Castonzo, right tackle Austin Howard and guard Jeremy Vujnovich out on either the non-football injury or physically unable to perform lists.

The Colts have wasted Luck by not providing him with a proper O-Line.

Kind of like the Bears did to Cutler. Funny it is the very same 7th round LT that they are plugging in here.

As for Nelson, I have the feeling that guy is going to be wasted too. Similar to Joe Thomas in Cleveland. An All-Pro Lineman stuck on a Bush League team.
