The Giants were hoping to sign guard Andrew Norwell. Instead, they signed the guy whose job Norwell took.
Per a tweet from his agents, the Giants have agreed to terms with Jacksonville left guard Patrick Omameh.
Omameh was displaced when the Jaguars signed Norwell to a record-breaking deal, so the Giants were quick to move down their list.
The 28-year-old Omameh joins Patriots left tackle Nate Solder on the rebuilt Giants line, as General Manager Dave Gettleman begins collecting large people as soon as he can.

How this turnstile keeps getting jobs is astounding.

The Dolphins are bringing back backup quarterback David Fales on a one-year contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Miami returns Ryan Tannehill and could draft a quarterback in the first round. They also have Brandon Doughty under contract.
Fales, 27, has played in three career games.
A sixth-round pick of the Bears in 2014, Fales also has spent time on the Ravens’ practice squad. The Dolphins signed him last April but cut him before the start of the season. He re-signed with Miami on October 24 and appeared in two games last season.

How does this guy keep getting re-signed. He is terrible! He is, at best, a camp arm to throw to scrubs. Looks like that is his position again this year too.
HaHa, remember when fans here, wanted this guy to be the starting QB of the Bears?

The Lions are expected to visit with Matt Slauson on Friday and one of his former teammates with the Chargers will be there to welcome him to Detroit if it goes off as planned.
The Lions announced on Thursday that they have signed guard Kenny Wiggins. No terms of the deal were disclosed.
Wiggins started all 16 games at right guard for the Chargers last season and shared the field with Slauson for seven of them before Slauson went on injured reserve. He joined the team in 2013 after stints with the Ravens and 49ers and has made 25 starts overall during his NFL career.
The Lions are moving on without center Travis Swanson with the intent of moving left guard Graham Glasgow to the pivot. If the Lions sign Slauson as well, there could be a competition between the two former Chargers this offseason.

I would still like to know what Slauson did to get run out of town like he did? Maybe he said the wrong thing to George?

The Dolphins are saying goodbye to Mike Pouncey and saying hello to Josh Sitton.
Sitton, a guard who played the last two years with the Bears and played with the Packers before that, has agreed to a two-year contract with the Dolphins.
The 31-year-old Sitton went to Miami last night and got a deal done this morning. Although the Bears decided to move on, Sitton has said that he still thinks he’s in his prime.
The Dolphins, who are making major changes up and down the roster, will give him the chance to prove he’s right about that.
I really hope we do not come to regret letting Sitton go a little too soon in the scheme of things....... I fear we might.
I do not think it was too early. Both he and Slauson have had trouble staying on the field. Pack got rid of Sitton due to injury concerns and Bears got one solid season out of his. Last year he was good when on the field. 13 games a year is not what you want from a starting O-lineman. Lets see who Pace finds to replace him. I like that ND Mauler Nelson at number 8.

I just think depth, and veteran leadership is worth hanging on to guys until they get beat out fair and square. I'm not a big fan of letting that element go based on speculation. I understand if cap space is needed but that is not the case, so this is no different than when they let Urlacher or Peanut go imo. Forte as well. We got lucky and beat the odds with Forte but the other two have yet to be truly replaced and its been years,
To me it's like cutting off your nose to spite your face.
If only he would testify that they put Rodgers on IR without an actual injury...
Train like you are 2nd, but play like you are 1st.
