A recent Poll of GMs across the league by the Tribune says that out of 7 Teams looking for a new HC (now 8 with Texans firing their first year Coach) the Bears rank 6th in the list of desirable locations to land.
They were quoted as having a top 10 Defense and a young QB and ownership that will give a coach time. But, the negatives are a roster that needs help, limited draft capital and cap space. Teams like the Jags have oodles of picks, cap space galore and a young QB, but they have no defense. Jags come in at number 2 on the list.
First strike is he is a Bellichick tree coach. Have any former Patriots coaches had success at all outside of New England?
Strike two is he seems to be very much in the Bellichick vein of totalitarian Head Coach and offends most of his coaches. He has 4 OCs in three years at Miami! Sound familiar? He is quoted as a favorite for the Bears because he brings a efense first mentality in the vein of Lovie Smith. Lovie could not keep an OC either or he chose such a Milk Toast weenie of a coach that the guy was non-existant to the outside world. You cannot win 9-3 games anymore.
3rd Strike, what will he do for Fields? Nothing, Justin will see a new OC and offense every year and never improve.
Just my opinion here.

Mike Vrabel
Flores has won 19 games spanning the last two seasons with a roster that's not loaded with a lot of well known talent. He seems to get the most out of the players he's given.
After the Club-Dub mentality of Nagy, it might be good to inject a little bit more discipline type atmosphere at Halas Hall.
I will give you you're point about switching out OCs after only one year. That imo is the biggest wart about Flores that I can see. I'd be real interested to find out his explanation of the annual turnover and who he plans to bring in as his OC this round.

Mike Vrabel was a Patriot player not coach. He was traded by Bellichick and started coaching with the Texans if I remember correctly. So Bill the Mean does not get any credit for Vrabel. In my book anyway.

Jim Caldwell has told the Bears no thank you. Seems the Bears are not every ones favorite landing spot. It probably has to do with ownership more than anything. A clueless employer make for a bad work experience. I should know, my previous employer was clueless and it made my life as a manager, miserable.

3 Chicago Bears coaching candidates connected to Ryan Poles
Brian Flores
Brian Flores has already interviewed for the Chicago Bears opening once, and with Ryan Poles now in place as general manager, a second interview should definitely be scheduled.
A positive is that Flores already has a relationship with new Bears’ general manager Ryan Poles. Flores and Poles are connected as they are both alums of Boston College. While the two never played together, they have established a professional relationship already and communicate regularly.
Matt Eberflus
Matt Eberflus is already considered to be a finalist for the Chicago Bears head coaching vacancy, and with Ryan Poles now in place as general manager, Eberflus may now be an even stronger candidate. Poles and Eberflus have built a professional relationship over the recent years.
Eric Bieniemy
Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy was once considered to be a top head coaching candidate, however, the Chicago Bears have yet to interview the coordinator for their head coaching vacancy.
Jim Caldwell has told the Bears no thank you. Seems the Bears are not every ones favorite landing spot. It probably has to do with ownership more than anything. Caldwell must be back in the running.......
Jim Caldwell’s interview w/the #Bears went “very well,” says a source close to the situation. I’m told the former #Lions/#Colts HC loves Justin Fields and impressed Chicago by laying out an entirely new offense that would highlight Fields’ extensive skill set.

Raiders
Jags
Broncos
Vikes
Dolphins
Bears
Giants
(I guess we can add the Texans here)
