Cob, the only thing I ever found out about Daniels. He is a quiet guy and you need a real verbal center for success.

I don't see any reason Daniels could not play well at center. He is more mature with experience, and has bulked up a bit from his initial weight. Daniels has to ne better than Stan M, and he has played even though he played poorly. Borom needs to be on the field even at guard. If they pick up a solid LT in free agency. I could see the running game improving along with pass protection..

Why is everyone giving Cody Whitehair a pass? He has been the weakest link on that line this season. He gets most of the penalties of all the linemen. He has killed what were great runs by Monty several times these last few games. I see a run for a big gain and look for the flag and my second look is to see how close Cody was to the flag. Number 67 is called a lot. Personally, I see Borom as a better prospect than Jenkins. Larry has looked good out at right tackle, but he will eventually end up on the Left side. The future looks to be Larry, Cody, Mustipher, Daniels and Jenkins from left to right. With some possible changes on the inside, as you guys have noted above. I do not see the Bears going out to find a FA LT. That would be too pricy. cheaper to use the Saints method of stocking the inside with solid payers and letting your tackles learn on the job. Saints have run at will with this formula for years now.

That's the only reason I've ever come across also. But it just doesn't make sense to me, Daniels was a very good center at Iowa, it didn't seem that he struggled in that environment. And Iowa's stadium gets as loud or louder than Soldier Field! Trust me I've been to both!wink

Mustipher always seems to get pushed back into the QB on pass blocking from when i've isolated on him. He still would make good depth for the OL roster, but it is another area where improvement would be quickly realized.

Dear George McCaskey, I know you are struggling with what to do with Ryan Pace. I know you respect him, and would like to keep him within the Bears organization. You can keep him as a friend and still respect him, while improving the Bears. You need to judge his contribution to the Bears over his tenure. His record speaks for itself. Pace is a mediocre to poor GM at best. I know it is hard to terminate a friend. If you are a true friend, you will send Ryan a message that he is no longer in the future Bear plans. In the past I have had to terminate people I liked and respected. As a friend I chose to move on even if it meant losing their friendship. If it was a true friendship, they would respect what I had to do for the organization. Each time they landed on their feet, and pull their act together and moved on to bigger positions. During one termination, the friend admitted he was failing, and respected the fact I called hin on the carpet. Six months after I terminated another friend, he called me and thanked me for giving him a wake up call. Both terminations were hard for me, but I had the organizations goals to follow, and was able to separate friends from performance.

My thoughts. Borom at LT, Whitehair at LG sign Daniels to play C or RG and have Jenkins at RT. If Daniels can play C we need to find a guard. If Daniels can't play center we need to pick up a center. I believe we still have Alex Bars and Dieter Eiselen. Maybe with a different coaching staff one might be able to become a starter.

Okay Nagy is fired but Pace has to go too. The shit show Nagy put on today is just typical Nagy and is no better than the crap he rolled out last year. That is 100% on Pace. He should have fired this clown last year. He hired this Bozo and his circus offense. He should shoulder the blame.

This game against the Vikes is the epitome of Nagy's arrogance. >Calling pass plays on 4th and one/goal 4 times in  a game with a RB averaging 4 yards a carry???

Pace also deserves to fired for hiring some of the absolute worst Veteran QBs ever to wear a Bears uniform. Dalton looked like warmed over dog shit today. Foles sucks. Glennon Sucks, Daniel Sucked, Sanchez sucked and Trubisky sucked. All Pace acquisition.

I am not sure I can endure another regime led by Pace.

I imagine not too many people are upset with Pace and Nagy being fired. What we need now is a good GM and coach to help with the rebuild. We need to get the right people for the rebuild. I guess we can start throwing out names for both openings.

How about Ryan Day for an outside-the-box hire? It wouldn't hurt for the Bears to give him a call. Day was Chip Kelly's quarterbacks coach for the Eagles in 2015 and 49ers in 2016, then offensive coordinator at Ohio State and became the head coach after Urban Meyer retired.

He coached Fields at Ohio State, is 34-4 as the head coach with Big Ten championships in 2019 and 2020. Fields completed 68.4% of his passes for 5,373 yards with 63 touchdowns to nine interceptions in two seasons with Day, while also rushing for 15 touchdowns. That aint bad.

Reuniting Day with Fields could work.........he has NFL experience and knows how to work with our shiny new QB. Chicago might just be the only NFL job Day would want, which is also an advantage for the Bears.

Of guys I've thought about Jim H. is still my top choice but Day is another thought.
