Goodwin Signs with the Bears
0

Marquise Goodwin intends to play in 2021, and he has found a place to play in 2021.

The receiver signed a one-year contract with the Bears, the team announced Friday night.

The 49ers traded Goodwin to the Eagles during the 2020 draft weekend, but Goodwin opted out of the 2020 season over COVID-19 concerns. Due to the conditions of the trade, Goodwin’s rights reverted back to the 49ers last month.

San Francisco cut Goodwin, making him a free agent.

Goodwin, 30, spent three seasons with the 49ers after four with the Bills. He has 140 catches for 2,323 yards and 13 touchdowns since the Bills made him a third-round choice in 2013.

Is this going to be Ted Ginn, Jr. 2.0? Does he have anything left in his tank? Or his Pace grasping at straws trying to save his career? Goodwin is 30 Years old, at least he is on a one year deal and Pace did not give him a $20M two or three year deal.

I still think this may be too little too late. But it most surely means Miller is gone before training camp. Wims too.

Think Goodwin is the replacement for Patterson. Plus it means Pace doesn't have to necessarily go WR in the draft's early rounds.

I've read that Goodwin's wife and kids had some health issues which led to his opting out in 2020. So hopefully he comes back ready and able to contribute.

Wanted: intelligent football savvy head coach. Contact George McCaskey.

I do not see him as Pattersons replacement, simply because he is not a RB nor is he even the same type of WR.
