Is Trubisky available for trade?
0

SM has been informed that Trubisky, for his part, has requested a trade. Three teams have inquired about such an idea to Chicago.

I wonder if this is true. I imagine there will be a few teams with interest.

I think this trading Mitch before the end of the season would be a horrible move unless at the same time Pace added a viable backup QB to replace him. If Foles gets hurt, Mitch can come in and win games. Brey is just giving up, would be better to just forfit the game and give the players some extra rest.

Pace will not trade MT. If Foles gets hurt and MT has already been traded, Pace will be looking for a new job next year. What would happen if Foles gets hurt prior to the playoffs or in the playoffs, if we make it there? That would spell disaster for the Bears, if MT was not on the team. MT is not the future solution at QB, but has experience in the system, and would give us the best chance to win.

MT is not a good QB. There is no chance the Bears win a SB with MT at QB. Therefore, if there is anything of value the Bears can get for him, I'd pull the trigger. They can also not win a SB with Bray and maybe end up with an extra 4rth round draft pick.

I kind of agree, but not fully. If we are in the playoffs and the offense has been running smooth, even if somehow we were to be in the SB, (koolaid alert) and Foles goes down for some reason... I can easily see Mitch putting together a solid game or even 2. He has had them. The issue is he also can just make bad decisions and hurt the team. Mitch at his best is easily a QB that could win a SB. The problem is that Mitch does not seem to know how to consistently be his best.

Bray on the other hand just sucks. In all honestly until Cohen got hurt he was a waste of a roster spot. I think Cohen would have been the better option at emergency QB over Bray. The only way we win a game with him at the reins is if the OLine and Montgomery take over and run on every down.

So I just do not feel good giving up Mitch this season unless Pace gives us a solid backup to Foles. The Bears might still implode, but they are 4-1 right now and have the potential for a strong postseason. Until that potential dissipates, we need to keep Mitch.

The only caveat to that is if some team gets desperate and wants to over pay Pace for Mitch, well... Sometimes you have to take the gamble. Pace does need to start gaining draft capital vs trading it away.

With Foles' durability issues, I doubt they trade Bisquit unless someone goes totally crazy and offers like a 2nd round pick.

I agree MT is not the future. If Foles gets hurt, MT would give us the best chance to win. Mitch has completed 63.1 percent of his passes, has 22 more touchdowns than interceptions and went 26-18 as the starting quarterback.

Obviously a situation where stats obscure the truth. Trubisky has benefited from playing on a team with Khalil Mack and a great defense. He has also performed extremely poorly against teams with decent defenses. It is highly unlikely he would lead the Bears to a SB. Taylor Bray can also not lead the Bears to a SB. If there is a draft pick there, I think the sooner the Bears can cut ties with Trubisky the better

For me it is a question of would I rather have Bray or MT take over if Foles goes down. We have no other options unless a trade is made, which I doubt will happen. At least MT has experience running the offense.
