At least there is hope for my pet cat pick of Pierce. Thought for sure he'd get the nod over Nall.

Train like you are 2nd, but play like you are 1st.

Why would you think that? Papabear.OR already told us he couldn't beat out Nall in college! I think Nall, though he has not really shown much on film yet, is a better choice. He has a different skill set and body type. A true change of pace/threat. They can call him what they want, but Nall is a FB. Or HB if you prefer. Pierce is just another typical RB in the mold of Montgomery. Why have two of the same. Now if Monty misses the entire season, by all means elevate Pierce from the PS. But, I imagine he will get poached, like that RB the Bears tried to stash on the PS a couple years ago. (Kerrith Whyte)

Charles Leno, Jr. and Cody Whitehair are SOLID!

2021 is the year the Bears put it all together! (2020 is a scrub)

Go Bears!

I'm not really sure why the Bears are holding onto Nall. He's been used minimally since making the team. They already dumped Jordan Howard because he doesn't fit their offense. Nall is considered more of a FB, not the prototype RB in this type of offense.

Because Nall is not a starting RB. He never will be a starting RB. So either Montgomery is good to go this Sunday or Nagy is already showing us once again he has no clue what to do running the ball. I think you absolutely want a backup that is similar to your starter for this very reason. If the starter goes down, you need to be able to slide someone in without having to completely change your entire offense.

But, I suppose since Nagy is still showing he is a moron when it comes to the running game, it really does not matter who is on the roster at RB. They are just bling.

We will see RB by committee like the Saints used to run until they found Kamara. J.P. Holz though listed as a TE is really a FB (or HB). Holz lead blocking for Nall on the goal line may be seen this year. Bears are hoping the threat of the tight ends will allow Cohen to return to his 2018 form. In 2019 defenses keyed on Cohen because the TEs were no threat. With Jimmy, Cole and Demetrius in this mix we will see more 12 formations keeping defenses in there base defense. Thus creating more mismatches for the TEs and Cohen. Demetrius has shown in TC to be a huge upgrade over Ben Braunecker (Alas, another Pet Cat of mine gone). Harris showed all through TC he has soft hands and is a good receiver, although he was used as a blocking TE in KC.

Bite your tongue! Future HOF RB you're talking about. Well, maybe Pro Bowl. Definitely starter at the worst.

And the poaching begins....

Chicago Bears See Two Players Claimed Off Their Practice Squad

By

Erik Lambert

Sep 15, 2020

It seems the Chicago Bears did a hell of a job building their practice squad with quality reserves. Why? It seems other teams didn’t hesitate to raid for help on their own rosters. On a wild Tuesday that already featured a boatload of drama with Allen Robinson, the Bears learned they’d be losing not one but two players of their practice squad.

The first was veteran guard Jamon Brown. They hoped he’d make nice depth behind Germain Ifedi and James Daniels. Instead the Philadelphia Eagles, fresh off allowing eight sacks on opening day, swiftly scooped him up to provide a boost to their beleaguered offensive line. Just a few minutes later it was revealed that another NFC East team jumped in.

The Dallas Cowboys are having huge problems at linebacker after Leighton Vander Esche went down with a collarbone injury. So in hopes of finding more depth, they grabbed undrafted rookie Rashad Smith off the Bears’ squad. Smith reportedly had a strong training camp and just missed making the final roster.
