Pack Sticks It in Rodgers' Eye
0

The Green Bay Packers selected Jordan Love, QB, Utah State, in the 1st round of the 2020 NFL draft. Despite no one ahead of them needing a QB, the Pack gave up picks to move and the QB. The 49ers whacked the Pack like a pinata in last year's NFC championship game and it was obvious that the Pack wasn't going to make it back to the SB with current personnel. So, the Pack bypassed needed wide receivers, which they're really short on, and a run stuffing DT to take a guy who might be Rodgers' replacement in a few years. Got to love it.

I'm not gonna judge though, cause Bears have no clue how to draft and develop a QB and Greenbay did the same thing when they drafted Rodgers While Favre had 2 or 3 years left to go, sooooooooo.  With our luck we are staring at the next HOF GreenBay QB to haunt us for the next 10 damn years.............

Why was it when I heard their pick that was the first thought that came to my mind? It's hard to even remember that between Bart Starr and Brett Favre, the Packers had a string of crappy QBs.

GB Packers and New England in talks. Patriots need a QB, Packers need a WR, possible trade?
Rodgers for Edelman. Rodger’s me first attitude has soured the relationship with second year HC Matt LaFleur. Can Belichick tame Rodgers and guide him to the Patriot way?

The Pack hasn't taken an offensive player in round 1 since drafting Rodgers. He's beginning to feel like Brady and we know how that turned out.

I wouldnt call it sticking it in Rodgers eye. More like they do their due diligence in picking up future prospects and let them sit a few years behind the current starter and learn/develop....

Now the Bears on the other hand....stick in their guys eye lol

To be fair Majkowski looked to be the part until the unfortunate injury

As the Bears go through yet another draft in which they don't take a QB even for development, it's hard to argue with the Pack's approach to taking a potential starter for after Rodgers. And they did win one SB with him. But did they squander winning others by not taking offensive support?

The magic man was ok, but not great. Favre grabbed the job as Majkowski struggled with injuries and the rest is history...

Injuries are part of the game. Where would the Bears be if Jim McMahon and Jim Miller didn't have their careers cut short by cheap shot career ending injuries?
