Chicago Bears: Tom Brady a great fit, would help Trubisky improve
1

The Chicago Bears have struggled on offense and it is no secret. Even though the team is set on Mitchell Trubisky, bringing in Tom Brady could help the team win now and help the progression of Trubisky.

The first thing I’ll say is, the Chicago Bears rushed Mitchell Trubisky out way too soon. He should have never touched the field in 2017. Once Trubisky got Matt Nagy as his head coach, he has progressed as a play, but last year’s regression could show he isn’t ready to take that next step.

I believe Trubisky still can be a solid quarterback. Trubisky can be solid and good enough to take the Bears to a Super Bowl if he gets his career back on track. There are a few things to think about with him though. Maybe him sitting on year on the bench as Tom Brady‘s backup could help his career. Brady can teach him a thing or two about winning and becoming a better quarterback.

Frickin' homers....

Why on earth would Brady come to the Bears as a Mentor?

Dude will return to the Pats or retire.

Pace would piss down his leg if he got a call from Brady's agent expressing interest, but besides that, I would bet Chicago would be on the bottom of Brady's list for potential landing spots if he ever entertained leaving the Patriots. But I agree, I don't see any situation that would be attractive enough to keep him from retiring if he doesn't return to the Patriots.

Not surprised....some of these people actually talked up Josh McCown as a starter for the Bears just a year after anointing him Josh McClown lmao. Chicago media is hilarious

Brady would slap the [email protected] out of Nagy though lol

So does Tom Brady or Drew Brees become the odds on favorite to be named the starter after signing with the Bears?

Neither would come to Chicago. As much as we Bears fans would like to think, the Bears are not a highly sought after location for FAs. Maybe, on the Defensive side of the ball, but definitely not on the Offensive side. Bears do not even have an OC at this point, why would any QB sign where it is unclear who will be on staff?

Brees will return  to the Saints or retire.

Brady will return to the Pats or retire.

This isn't the 60's anymore. No team is going to sign a 40+ year old QB to start over in their town.

Anyway, you take those two out of their environment and they will most likely fail. Unless you sign their current HCs as a package deal. Brady/Bellichick and Brees/Payton are as much responsible for each others success as not. Take one away from either pairing and the remainder will also struggle to continue winning.

You just wait till next year!

Getting back on topic here....

How is Brady a good fit in Chicago? Nagy runs a west coast RPO based offense. Brady is 45,000 years old (in football years). Have you ever seen Tom run? Even at the combine when he was about 21 years old, he was slow, dorky and almost immobile. (I think he ran a 5.9 40) There were O-Linemen faster than him.

The only thing that makes Brady a fit is 6 SuperBowl rings and a pipedream wish from fans.

I'm glad you brought this up. Nagy had the 3rd most RPOs and the 5th most zone read plays in the league. I can't remember Brady running any of those plays. Even the thought of it makes me cringe. It's actually a horrible fit. You don't need an exceptionally fast or quick QB to be successful (Nick Foles won a SB running an RPO offense) but it helps, and at this point, I can't see Brady committing to learning an entirely new offense.

This thought just occurred to me. Is there a chance Brady could follow McDaniels to either Cleveland or the Giants? It's not like Mayfield or Jones had stellar years.
