I was born a Bears fan I guess, because that was the games my dad would watch every Sunday. If was at noon we went to church early if it was later we would go a 10 AM. Dad didn't want to miss a second of the game. Win or lose it didn't matter to my dad all he care about was watching the Bears.

I had just started getting into football at school when he took me to my first Bears game. I guess it was that game that made me a Bears fan. I told him on the way home someday daddy I am going to play on that field. He was at my game in 1981, he told before the game that is was the proudest moment in his life, to watch his son play at Soldier Field, even if I was on the wrong team.

Your Dad sounds like me. I told my wife when we got married I had one vice and that was I had to watch the Bears every Sunday. When the Bears are losing big she asks me why I continue to watch and punish myself. To this day she does not understand my passion for the team, but she knows it will never change.

I live in minnesota was born and raised here. When I was 5 I started taking interest in football and my father said in this house when it comes to football we have one rule you must hate the vikings. He is a hard core raiders fan and has been his whole life. He got to live through some great times as a raider fan in the 70's and early 80's, not so much the last decade. My brother followed him as a raiders fan. Having our hate for the vikings allowed me to give my father a great chritsmas present this past year I gave him a huge framed and signed picture of jack tatum standing over sammy white after he knocked him out in the super bowl.but back to how I became a bears fan,I was 5 and being baby sat by my grandma I was eating rice crispies and the prize in the box was a football helmet sticker I pulled it out and it happen to be a bears sticker. I liked the way it looked and the rest is history. I was 10 when the monsters won the big one and years later I bought the 85 season box set. Watching it now gives me the chills, man what a special team to bad things got stupid after that I really believed that team could have been a dynasty. Looking back to being a fan at 5 with little understanding of football tells me it was my destiny to be a bears fan for life, these are my boys always have been and always will be.

I was born '78 in DE, my uncle lived in Chi and sent me Bears regalia all growing up, he instilled it in me. Before I knew it Walter Payton was my hero, and I remember the super bowl in '85 well :) My dad is a lifelong Patriots fan (his time certainly came though lol)  As a kid...that orange C meant everything to me, on the center of Soldier Field on the Tv screen, on the helmets, I loved it, something "tied" me to it. Felt "right" always. I loved McMahon. I loved Neal Anderson. Mike Brown is one of my all time top favorite Bears. Played middle and high school football every year growing up (QB) ... The influence came from my uncle very early, I knew it/the team, was "me" ...my uncle took me to my 1st game @ Soldier Field in 2003 vs Redskins late Dec. (Win) Have attended at the least one game per year ever since :) Overall, family influence from Chi-town. BEARS for life. Cutty's my niggy ...

Nice read....I was 10 when they won it as well. Payton was and still is a hero of mine. Always my favorite Bear.
